The renowned Sanctuary experience remains the same: 53 expansive desert acres that invite exploration, sweeping Paradise Valley views from our signature infinity-edge pool, and spacious casitas and villas that are situated and designed for privacy.
Per the Emergency Order issued by Maricopa County on Friday, June 19 the wearing of masks in all areas of public accommodation is now mandated. This goes into effect at midnight on Saturday, June 20 and will remain in effect until rescinded by the County. For further information click here.

Enhanced safety protocols and adjusted operations
The wellbeing of guests and staff remains our priority. While Sanctuary is the same beautiful resort that you love, there will be new protocols in place to ensure everyone’s safety. The adjustments we’re making are informed by recommendations from leading global, national and state authorities. Some changes will be in plain sight, while others are organized behind the scenes. All are designed to safeguard our guests and associates, and we hope to offer peace of mind so that you can enjoy your time in this beautiful slice of paradise.
Open: Resort accommodations, including villas, are open, as are recreation facilities including our infinity pool, lap pool, fitness center, movement studio and tennis courts. The Salon is available for hair services, manicures and pedicures as is the Sanctuary Boutique. In-room and poolside dining are available. Elements restaurant and jade bar are open for daily dining and cocktail services. A limited treatment menu of body treatments, facials and massages is available at Sanctuary’s Spa.
Arrival: Guests will receive a care package from the front desk upon arrival. Each guest will receive two (2 oz.) bottles of hand sanitizing gel, extra face masks and two individual wet wipes for personal use. All visitors and guests will be temperature screened using touchless thermometers upon arrival.
Check-in/Check-outThe check-in process will be expedited in order to minimize person-to-person contact. The Front Desk has been reconfigured to ensure social distancing. Guests will soon be able to check in remotely utilizing their personal mobile devices, which will also serve as the key to their guestroom throughout their stay. Digital versions of guest maps, dining confirmations and spa reservations can also be sent to guests’ mobile devices upon request. Guest folios are available via their guestroom television and guests can check out remotely.
Bell Service/Valet: Valet and bell services are available upon request, with additional disinfection protocols in place. Golf cart rides can be provided throughout the resort while maintaining social distancing. All visitors and guests will be temperature screened using touchless thermometers upon arrival.
Guestrooms: Additional disinfection processes have been implemented for all guestrooms, including telephones, remotes and all surfaces. Guests may now use their mobile devices to control their guestroom television. Our guest services team will be happy to assist with downloading the required app and assisting with the setup process upon arrival. Wall-mounted hand sanitizer dispensers have been installed in the bathroom of every guest room. Each guestroom has its own HVAC unit.
Guest Services: Guests have access to a user-friendly text messaging system that is monitored by our Guest Service team 24-hours a day. Guests may text all housekeeping, maintenance, front desk or concierge requests from their personal mobile device. Our guest services team can also send digital PDF versions of hiking maps, driving directions or anything else that a guest may require.
Housekeeping: Daily housekeeping and turndown services are only available upon request to promote social distancing and limit housekeeping staff exposure to guests.
Spa: Temperature checks are done during check-in at the spa front desk. Service providers and guests are both required to wear face masks during service. Sanctuary Spa has increased the time between services in each room to 30 minutes in order to conduct a thorough sanitization between each guest service. Additional air filters are in each treatment room for cleaner air. Furniture in the men’s and women’s waiting lounges has been reconfigured to allow for physical distancing. Showers in locker rooms are cleaned and sanitized after each use. An industrial electrostatic sanitization machine is used in all treatment rooms, men’s and women’s lounges, quiet room, spa lobby, fitness center, and movement studio daily.
Fitness Center: Sanctuary’s fitness center has been reconfigured to allow for appropriate physical distancing between machines and additional cleaning protocols have been implemented to sanitize machines and equipment after each use.

Restaurant Services: Elements restaurant reduced occupancy is 50% or less with an emphasis on safe and refined service. Each table is 6 feet or more away from each other. Each guest will receive wrapped silverware that contains a personal sanitizer wipe and safely covered glassware. Staff will only approach guest tables to provide food and other essential items and will remain six or more feet from table for most of the dining experience. We request guests arrive no more than 10 minutes prior for their dinner reservation as the waiting area and jade bar have limited capacity. Based on mandated guidelines, our team members and guests are required to wear face masks while visiting us. Guests may remove their mask during the dining experience, but it must be replaced in all public areas. Please respect these guidelines as we work to maintain the safety of our guests and teams.
Bar / Lounge Service: Jade bar reduced occupancy 60% or less and to ensure a safe location to dine or enjoy a beverage. We currently do not offer standing room – all guests must have a table or seat. All tables and seats are 6 feet or more away from each other. Jade bar seating is limited to parties of 4 or fewer. Based on mandated guidelines, our team members and guests are required to wear face masks while visiting us. Guests may remove their mask during the dining experience, but it must be replaced in all public areas. Please respect these guidelines as we work to maintain the safety of our guests and teams.
Infinity Pool: Pool seating is spaced appropriately to ensure everyone is safely distanced from others. The pool is monitored to ensure no large groups gather in the pool. Communal items such as pool floats have been removed at this time. The pool can fill up quickly so plan your day so you can enjoy all of our poolside amenities, such as light delicious cuisine from elements restaurant and delicious beverages.
While the list of safety steps we’re initiating across the resort is too lengthy to share here, rest assured it is comprehensive and in accordance with the best recommendations available. Sample steps include:
- Hand sanitizer available for all staff and guests throughout the property.
- Personal protective equipment provided to staff with training on proper use, including gloves and masks.
- Enhanced sanitizing procedures including new protocols for housekeeping staff to address guestrooms after check-out, the cleaning of front desk touchpoints and golf carts between use by each guest and staff member, and hourly cleaning of handrails, door rails and other common areas.
- Use of industrial electrostatic sanitization in all areas of the resort, including spa, restaurant, bar and kitchen.
- Adjustment of table and seating options in public areas, at the pool, the restaurant and bar, and spa to ensure guests are appropriately social distancing, with sanitizing after each use.
- Single-use dining, drink and wine menus.
