Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Debuts “Fridays at jade” and “Sundays in Paradise” With Free Music and Great Deals for Locals

Scottsdale, Ariz. (February 14, 2011) – From “TGIF!” to Sunday’s laissez-faire conclusion, weekend escapes are a specialty at Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain. Now, Sanctuary is turning our days of rest into days of great revelry, offering the local community free concerts and great dining deals with the debut of Fridays at jade and Sundays in Paradise.

Fridays at jade:
Starting February 18, 2011 and continuing through spring, Fridays at jade features performances by the Stephanie King Duo from 8-11 p.m., compliments of Sanctuary. Ms. King’s soulful voice, accompanied by acoustic guitarist Mark Hiva, is the perfect way to commence the weekend, especially when paired with one of jade bar’s signature cocktails (bring on the celery serrano margarita!) and Executive Chef Beau MacMillan’s delectable small plates.

Sundays in Paradise:
After a Friday to remember, Sanctuary will help shake the end-of-weekend blues with free Sundays in Paradise starting March 6, 2011. Designed as an opportunity for locals to meet and mingle, Sundays in Paradise will take place on Sanctuary’s Paradise Views lawn from 2-6 p.m. through June 5, 2011*, with live entertainment courtesy of the resort. To celebrate the inaugural show, complimentary samplings of spirits and wines will be offered from 2-3 p.m. on March 6, with Dennis Rowland’s jazz standards starting at 3 p.m. Subsequent Sundays will showcase other artists including the Walt Richardson Band, SugahBeats and EastonAshe.

There is no cover charge to attend Sundays in Paradise and locals are encouraged to bring their own blanket, or they may opt for a special $50 package from Sanctuary that includes a blanket to borrow, bottle of wine, and a tray of delectable treats. Chef MacMillan will reveal a new grill entrée each week that can be enjoyed on the lawn, starting with Caja China Pulled Pork Sandwiches with Pineapple Jerk Slaw and Honey Butter Corn Bread ($9). He has also designed an ongoing Sunday menu of a la carte goodies for the lawn party, including a Charcuterie Plate with Roasted Red Peppers, Caper Berries, Mustard and Artisan Bread ($16), Shrimp and Avocado Ceviche with Tortilla Chips ($14) and French Fries with Gravy and Farmer’s Cheese ($9).

*Sundays in Paradise will not take place on April 24 or May 8, 2011.
