Resort’s Annual LUNCH & LEARN Series Receives Top Billing
Scottsdale, Ariz. (June 24, 2009) – Today the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) recognized Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain (Scottsdale, Ariz.) with a 2009 Stars of the Industry award. The boutique resort’s annual summer cooking series – LUNCH & LEARN – won AH&LA’s “special events, ongoing, small property” award, honoring an individual hotel that has developed outstanding programs and events.
“We launched LUNCH & LEARN eight years ago hoping to connect with the local community and engage with our summer guests,” said Mike Surguine, vice president and general manager of Sanctuary. “Since then, the summer series has taken on a life of its own. We’ve been able to host big names from the culinary world alongside rising local talent, which has been great fun. On behalf of my team, I thank the AH&LA for its recognition.”
Sanctuary launches its 2009 LUNCH & LEARN series on July 11. Led by Executive Chef Beau MacMillan, classes are held every Saturday through Aug. 15, 2009, and guest lecturers will include Chef David Bull of The Stoneleigh Hotel & Spa in Dallas, TX, Chef Josh Emett of Gordon Ramsey at The London, NYC and Chef Stephanie Izard, winner of season four of Bravo’s hit television series, “Top Chef.” Lunch classes cost $65 per person and special evening events – including entertainment by award-winning musical artists – cost $95 per person. When paired with a class, Saturday night accommodations are available for a special one-night rate of $169 including a complimentary upgrade to a mountain casita suite when available.
